Dear Reviewer,

I have completed my Master’s Degree in Emergency Services Administration at California State University Long Beach.  Having this degree will give me the opportunity and the knowledge base I need to move forward into this new career path which I am about to begin.  In addition, I have just completed an internship with the National Preparedness Division at the Region 1 office of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.  I am currently volunteering with the City of Holbrook’s Emergency Management Agency.

While my background is a little nontraditional, I have experience in different types of fast paced decision-making situations.  My background in film production gives me the ability to think on my feet and adapt to the unexpected, which I feel will be an asset in this field.  As a member of a Search and Rescue team for the past three years, I have been in many high stress situations and participated in numerous events that required level-headed thinking and decision-making skills.  This team searches for missing persons, provides standby medical for major athletic events and assists the police in emergency situations.
